What is the pH of a solution that contains 1.2 moles of nitric acid (HNO3) and 1.7 moles of hydrochloric acid (HCl) dissolved in 1000 liters of water?

    [H+] = 1.2 + 1.7/1000=0.0029 M

    pH = - log 0.0029=2.54

    moles HCl = 0.0025 L x 6.0 M=0.015

    [H+] = 0.015 / 1.75=0.0086 M

    pH = 2.1 so the ph is 2.1 of given solution
