Molecular energies can be expressed as the sum of 4 components: translational, rotational, vibrational, and electronic. Let these be represented as eTr, eRo, eVi, eEl. If the energies sum to the total energy, prove whether the total partition function for the molecule is the sum of OR the product of the 4 component partition functions:qTr, qRo, qVi, qEl.
