What is conserved during a chemical reaction matter, energy, both, or niether?

    Both because in a chemical reaction energy is used to change the reactants to form the product and energy is changed, added, or removed in the process but the matter of the two or more substances have the same amount of mass due to the law of conservation of mass and energy.
