A student mixes 100 mL of 0.50 M NaOH with 100 mL of 0.50 m HCl ina styrofoam cup and observes a temperature increase of delta T1. When she repeats this experiment using 200o mL of each solution, she observes a temperature change of delta T2. If no heat is lostto the surroundsings or absorbed by the styrofoam cup, what is therelationship between delta T1 and delta T2? A) DeltaT2 = deltaT1B) DeltaT2 = 2 deltaT1C) DeltaT2 = 0.5 deltaT1D) DeltaT2 = deltaT1

    D) DeltaT2 = deltaT1

    Explanation:

The temperature will be the same since the volume of water present is doubled which means part of the heat will be used to heat the water although the reactant doubled and produce twice heating effect.
