What is the smallest part gold can be broken into and still have all of gold's properties?

    Gold does not react with very many things and those things are very rare themselves. That's why gold is used as money which will become very important in your lifetime.

    Usually gold is thought of in terms of atoms as the lowest entity that gold can be broken down to.
