How does the movement of particles of matter change when matter goes from solid to liquid?

    When particles change from a solid to a liquid they start to move around a lot of faster and dont just stay in one block which is why if you were to pour a liquid into a tub it would fill the whole tub and not just one small part. Their kinetic energy is higher.
