Describe that alkynes are more unsaturated compounds than alkenes?

    This happens because of saturation

    Unsaturation depends on how much hydrogen bond alkene or alkyne can add.

    Since for every triple bond on the alkyne you can add 2 hydrogen.

    While for every double bond on the alkene you can only add 1 hydrogen.

    So alkynes possess or show more saturation.
