    Mixture

    Explanation:

A mixture is made up of the two or more substances which are different and are physically combined. It is physical combination in which identities of each substance are retained.

Pure substances contain only one kind of the particle.

When the teaspoon of the magnesium filings and the teaspoon of the powdered sulfur are together placed in the metal beaker, the constitute is mixture because it contains 2 substances which are physically mixed and both magnesium and sulfur show their properties individually.
