Answer: The central O atom in angle 1 has four electron pairs; the H-O-N angle is therefore approximately 109o. The central N atom in angle 2 has three pairs (remember that the double bond counts as one pair for purposes of molecular geometry); the O-N-O angle is approximately 120o. The central C atom in angle 3 has four electron pairs; the H-C-H angle is 109 degrees. The central C atom in angle 4 has three pairs (note the double bond!) and the C-C-O angle is about 120o. The central N atom in angle 5 has four electron pairs; the H-N-H angle is about 109 degrees (probably a little less because of the influence of the lone pair on the N atom.) The central O atom in angle 6 has four electron pairs, so the N-O-H angle is about 109 degrees (again, probably less than 109 because of the influence of the lone pairs on the O atom.) The C-C-N angle (angle 7) is linear (180o. The central C atom has two electron pairs (the triple bond counts as one pair.) The central C atom in angle 8 has 4 pairs, so the H-C-C angle is approxiamtely tetrahedral (109o).
