Find the qsp when 3.4 ml of 1 m hcl (aq) and 4.8 ml of 0.0022 m agno3 (aq) are mixed together with enough water to dilute the solution to 40 ml. the solubility product of agcl is 1.6 * 10-10.

    Moles of HCl = 1 * 0.0034 L = 0.0034 m

    when the total volume = 0.04 L

    [HCl] = 0.0034 / 0.04L = 0.085 M

    then we need to get moles of AgNO3 = 0.0022 * 0.0048L = 0.00001 m

    [AgNO3] = 0.00001 / 0.04 L = 0.00025 M

    when Qsp = [Ag+][Cl-]

    =0.00025 * 0.085 = 2.1x10^-5

    when Qsp > Ksp ∴ supersaturated salt will be precipitated untile Qsp becomes equal Ksp

    So because of Qsp > Ksp

    ∴ AgCl will be precipitated
