The density of an object is an extensive property. It means that it does not depend on the amount of the substance. Every substance in the world has its characteristic density. So, it would not affect the rate of melting because it does not change. Adding the objects could hasten the process because each object possess an energy in the form of heat. That could propel the driving force for the melting process.
