Calculate these volumes.

(a) what is the volume of 25 g iodine, density = 493 g/cm3

(b) What is the volume of 3.28 g gasoous hydrogen, density = 0.089 g/L?

    A) mass / volume = density

    25g/v = 493g/cm3

    25g = 493g/cm3 • v

    25g / 493g/cm3 = v

    0.051cm3 = v

    B) mass / volume = density

    3.28g / v = 0.089g/L

    3.28g = 0.089g/L • v

    3.28g / 0.089g/L = v

    37 L = v
