A solution is made by dissolving solute B in solvent A. Consider the A-A attractive forces, the B-B attractive forces, and the A-B attractive forces. If the solution process is exothermic, what can you say about the relationships between these attractive forces?

    A-A and B-B attractive forces contains more energy than AB attractive forces

    AA and BB are separated as solutes and solvents in themselves which is an endothermic reaction ΔH<0 while they are free to react to form the product AB that contains lesser amount of energy than the reactants AA and BB of which the excess energy is observed as increased temperature of the solution

    ΔH<0 : Exothermic Reaction (negative), because the the products less energetic than reactants.

    Dispersing the molecular bonds of the solute AA and the solvent BB solutions by themselves are generally endothermic reactions in as their cohesive forces are broken down to allow them mix, while allowing the free reaction of the molecules is an exothermic reaction as they form the solution component AB which is less energetic accompanied by excess energy as that is observed in heat of the reaction
