A balloon that had a volume of 3.50 L at 25.0°C is placed in a hot room at 40.0°C. If the pressure remains constant at 1.00 atm, what is the new volume of the balloon in the hot room?

    Use Charles's Law., which relates volume and temperature for gases at constant pressure. = > V1/T1 = V2/T2. This formula requires the use of absolute temperatures=> T1 = 25.0 + 273.15K = 298.15K, and T2 = 40.0 + 273.15K = 313.15K. Therefore: 3.50 L / 298.15K = x / 313.15K = > x = 3.50L * 313.15K / 298.15K = 3.68 L. Answer: 3.68 L
