here we have to differentiate between the orbital model and electron cloud model and the model which can explain the state of the electron in better way.

The orbital model of electron states the particle nature of the electron and it concludes the electrons are static in nature. But in electron cloud model the electrons are treated as wave which is spread in a certain region.

The electron cloud model is more realistic than the orbital model as it can explain all the hypothesis and experimental outcome done over nature of the electron till date.

The particle nature cannot explain the Heisenberg uncertainty principal, the spin correlation of electrons or exchange energy.

On the electron cloud model is generated from the quantum mechanics where the presence electron cloud is explained by Schrodinger wave equation.
