    Explanation : Ecto means exterior and therm means heat. So, ectotherm animals are those animals which cannot produce enough internal heat in their body, hence, they depend upon the surrounding environment for maintaining the temperature of the body. Like the cold-blooded animals such as snakes, reptiles, fish, etc.
