    V2 gas = 2.33 L

    Explanation:

    assuming ideal gas:

    PV = RTn

    ∴ n gas = 1 mol

    ∴ P1 standard = 1 atm

    ∴ V1 gas = 3.5 L

    ∴ P2 = 1.5 atm ⇒ V2 = ?

    state 1:

    ∴ P1V1 = nRT1

    ⇒ P1V1/T1 = nR

    state 2:

    ⇒ P2V2/T2 = nR

    (1) = (2)

    ⇒ P1V1/T1 = P2V2/T2

    assiming: T1 = T2

    ⇒ P1V1 = P2V2

    ⇒ V2 = P1V1/P2

    ⇒ V2 = ((1 atm) (3.5 L)) / (1.5 atm)

    ⇒ V2 = 2.33 L
