    2) Calculate pH values for the two solutions:

    ∵ pH = - log[H⁺]

    [H⁺] = 0.1 M.

    ∵ pH = - log[H⁺]

    ∴ pH = - log[H⁺] = - log (0.1 M) = 1.

    For 0.1 M HF:

    [H⁺] = 7.9 x 10⁻³ M.

    ∵ pH = - log[H⁺]

    ∴ pH = - log[H⁺] = - log (7.9 x 10⁻³ M) = 2.1.
