Ethanol has a chemical formula C2H5OH and sugar has a chemical formula C6H12O6. The individual components in both the substances are carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. Yet, they are two different compounds.

What is the reason for this?

    They contain different numbers of atoms of each element

    The arrangement of the atoms of each element are different in the both compounds
