What are some economic impacts of calcium?

    Calcium is often used in production of chemicals (obvious answer).

    A better answer would be some specific ones.

    One is that calcium carbonate is useful in building houses as it is cheap to make and has properties that make it good for insulation. Its also used to make many things such as cement or lime.
