The process that led to this difference in fur color is natural selection. Polar bears live in the arctic, where there is snow all around. In this kind of environment, white bears blend in well with their surroundings, while brown and black bears stand out. This means that brown and black bears would be easier to spot as prey, and would not survive in an arctic environment. Since white bears are more adapted to the environment, they would survive and reproduce, creating a large population of white bears.

    Explanation:

In natural selection, Polar Bears are white therefore, them living in the arctic in the snow, it allows them to blend in. Polar Bears are adapted meaning they could survive, reproduce and creating a larger population of Polar Bears.
