Cellular respiration is the reverse of photosynthesis because it is glucose + oxygen yield carbon dioxide water and ATP while photosynthesis is carbon + water yields oxygen and glucose. Cellular respiration is the way cells gain energy from the sun. Photosynthesis is the plants way of producing energy and these processes are basically the reverse of the other.
