    ∵ (MV) before dilution of HCl = (MV) after dilution of HCl

    ∴ (12.0 M) (100.0 mL) = (1.5 M) (V after dilution of HCl)

    ∴ V after dilution of HCl = (12.0 M) (100.0 mL) / (1'.5 M) = 800.0 mL.
