What is the amount of heat released or absorbed by a reaction?

    use the equation Q = mc ΔT

    Q = heat energy transferred (joules)

    m = mass of the liquid being heated (kilograms)

    c = specific heat capacity of the liquid (joule per kilogram Celsius), ΔT = change in temperature (Celsius).
