Your teacher gives you a concentrated solution of 12M nitric acid. Since that

concentration is too high for your purposes, you dilute it to 128mL of 2.5M. How

much of the initial nitric acid do you need to make the final solution for your lab?

    M1*V1 = M2*V2

    M1 = 12M

    V1=?

    M2 = 2.5M

    V2=128 mL

    12M*V1 = 2.5M*128 mL

    V1 = 2.5*128/12 mL≈ 26.7 mL
