If Damien runs around a two hundred meter track, you will add two hundred meters four times in order to discover the distance he has run, which is eight hundred meters. Since the track is an oval, every time he completes a lap, Damien will have finished in the same location he started. This means at the end of running four complete laps his displacement should be zero.
