There are two definitions for acid and base in chemistry.
Explanation:
There are different definitions of Acid and Base:
The Arrhenius definition sais that acid is every substance that increases the concentration of protons in water. Thus, a base is a substance that increase the concentration of oxydriles in water.
On the other hand, the Bronsted definition sais that an acid is a substance with the ability to give protons and a base is a substance with the ability to accept protons.
