Use the particle theory of matter to explain why table salt dissovles more rapidly than rock salt?

    Table salt is much finer than rock salt. It has a much bigger surface area. A bigger surface area means that more solvent (the stuff the salt is being dissolved in) can reach and react with the salt particles. This results in a faster and more efficient reaction between larger surface area salt and the dissolving solvent
