A glucose solution is 3.25% glucose by mass and has a density of 1.03 g/ml. what mass of glucose is contained in 58.2 ml of this solution?

    The density is the mass per unit volume. It is calculated from the formula d = m/V.

    d = density

    m = mass

    V = volume.

    We have here density = 1.03 g/ml, volume = 58.2 ml.

    m = d * V = 1.03 * 58.2 = 59.946 grams.

    Since that glucose is only 3.25% of the mass of the solution.

    Therefore mass of glucose = 3.25/100 * 59.946 = 1.948 grams.
