What product (s) are expected in the ethoxide-promoted β-elimination reaction of 1-chloro-1-methylcyclohexane? Omit ions, salts, and ethanol from your response.

    Explanation:

    In this reaction mechanism, the ethoxide will take an hydrogen from carbon 2 forming ethanol. At the same time the bond electrons left behind by the hydrogen will form a double bond with the carbon 1 and the the methyl will be eliminated with irs electrons from the bond forming ethoxide.

    In conclution we will have one possible product: 1-chloro-cycohexene
