How much ice in grams would have to melt to lower the temperature of 360 mL of water from 45 ∘C to 0 ∘C? (Assume that the density of water is 1.0 g/mL.) Express your answer using two significant figures.

    From the question

    Mass of water = 360g

    Heat capacity of water = 4.2Jg-1

    Latent heat of ice = 334Jg-1

    ml = - mcθ

    m*334 = - (360*4.2 * (0-45))

    334m = 68040

    m = 68040/334

    =203.7g
