How many covalent bonds does nitrogen form if each of its unpaired electrons participate in one bond?

    There are a total of four (4) covalent bonds does nitrogen form if each unpaired electrons participate in one bond and a neutral carbon atom has six electrons. The nearest neon, noble gas has ten electrons. However, the valence shell has four electrons, each unpaired.
