136 grams of barium sulfate are used to make a 2.5 M solution. How many liters of water are needed?

    The number liters that are needed to make 2.5 m solution of BaSO4 is calculated as follows

    find moles of BaSO4 = moles = mass/molar mass

    = 64g / 233.4 g/mol = 0.583 moles

    volume of water = moles / molarity

    = 0.583 / 2.5 = 0.233 L
