    the volume of water in the ocean in liters is 3.5126E20 L

    Explanation:

    taking the ocean as if it were a large cylinder, the volume would be:

    V = π*r²*h

    ∴ h (depth) = 3.9 E3m = 3.9 Km

    surface area for the cylinder is:

    S = 2*π*r*h + 2*π*r² = 1.8 E8 Km²

    ⇒ 2*π*r * (3.9Km) + 2*π*r² - 1.8 E8 Km² = 0 ... quadratic formula

    ⇒ 25.504r + 6.28r² - 1.8 E8 = 0

    ⇒ r 1 = 5354.4 Km ∧ r 2 = 5350.5 Km; r 1 ≅ r 2

    ⇒ V = π * (5354.4Km) ² * (3.9 Km) = 351265990.6 Km³

    ⇒ V = 351265990.6 Km³ * (1000m / Km) ³ * (1000L / m³) = 3.5126 E20 L
