Explain why airborne and water-borne chemicals are both local and global issues.

Airborne and water-borne chemicals are both local and global issues because they may be in high concentration near the source (locally) where they can do much damage to the environment. However, they can travel long distances so that chemicals produced in one country can have a harmful effect in another country.
