Are formed from terminal alkynes with the addition of water using h2so4 and hgso4.

    Terminal alkynes are hydrocarbons which contain a triple bond located at one end of the chain. Addition of water to terminal alkynes could produce different products. It depends on the catalysts used. When the catalysts used are H₂SO₄ and HgSO₄, it forms methyl ketones.
