21.84 grams of d calcium chloride are dissolved in water to a final volume of 562.43 mL. The resulting solution has a density of 1.10 gram per milliliter at this temperature. What is the molarity of calcium chloride in the solution

    Molar mass of calcium chloride = 40+2 (35.5) = 111gmol-1

    Mass calcium chloride = 21.84g

    Volume of solution = 562.43ml

    From

    n = CV

    But n=m/M

    n = number of moles

    C=concentration

    V = volume of solution in litres

    m=mass of substance

    M = molar mass of substance

    n=21.84/111 = 0.197moles

    C = 0.197 * 1000/562.43

    C = 0.35 M
