Calculate the density of an object that occupies 17.3 cm^3 and has a mass of 39.26 grams. Will that object float in water, given that density of water is 1.00 g/cm^3? Explain your answer

    Density is equal to the mass of an object divided by its volume. Objects that are less dense than water can float while objects that are more dense than water sinks.

    the density of this object is 39.26g/17.3cm^3 which equals 2.27g/cm^3 and will therefore not float in water since it is more dense than water.
