What are the malleus, incus, and stapes are collectively called?

    Answer: These are Latin words meaning "Hammer, anvil and stirrup", from the way they look; The Bones of the Ear; The malleus looks as does a hammer hitting the incus, anvil; and if you do not have a horse, you have surely seen a movie of the rider putting their boot in the the (left side) of the Saddle's stirrup, or (stapes).
