A symbiotic relationship is a close relationship between two species in which at least one species benefits, most often both. For the other species, the relationship may be positive, negative, or neutral.
Explanation:
The best way to explain symbiotic relationships is by example. For example, algae, which is an autotroph, and fungus, which is a saprophyte, live together in lichen. Both benefit in this case, also known as mutalism. Mutualism is a type of symbiotic relationships.
