The rate of the reaction = (the rate of disappearance of O₃) / 2 = (the rate of formation of O₂) / 3.

    Explanation:

As the equation of ozone decomposition to oxygen is:

    2O₃ → 3O₂.

    The rate of the reaction = - d[O₃] / (2. dt) = d[O₂] / (3. dt).

where, - d[O₃] / (dt) is the rate of disappearance of O₃.

d[O₂] / (dt) is the rate of formation of O₂.

∴ The rate of the reaction = (the rate of disappearance of O₃) / 2 = (the rate of formation of O₂) / 3.
