Now anions (CL-, SO4- - etc.) are generally termed acid radicals because they are generated from the hydrolysis of acids (HCl, H2SO4 etc). And cations (Na+, Ba+ + etc) are generally termed basic radicals because they are generated from the hydrolysis of bases (NaOH, Ba (OH) 2 etc)
