    Nylon

    Explanation:

Your teacher is probably expecting the answer, "nylon".

Nylon-6,6 is an artificial textile first produced by the chemist, Wallace Carothers, in 1935.

However, Felix Hofmann synthesized aspirin even earlier, in 1897. Aspirin is a synthetic product. The compound in willow bark is salicin. Its structure is slightly different from that of aspirin.

Chemists made the first artificial silk (Rayon) in 1891. It has a different structure from natural silk (it's made of cellulose chains instead of polypeptides), but chemist have developed its lustre, sheen, and gloss to be better than the most expensive "real" silk.
