Compounds are pure substance that combines two or more atoms of elements.

Compounds are composed of atoms of two or more elements that are chemically bonded.

One fact about the composition of compound is that they have a definite proportion by mass, so they are the same through out and are definitely homogeneous

    Explanation:

Compounds are pure substance that combines two or more atoms of elements. The atoms are usually chemically bonded. These pure substances can only be separated to their distinct elements by chemical means.

Generally, when two distinct elements are chemically forming a bond between atoms a chemical compound is usually formed. Example of chemical compound is NaCl (Sodium chloride). The compound is formed from the composition of two different element namely sodium and chlorine. The atoms of this two distinct elements are bonded ionically to form a chemical compound known as sodium chloride. The pure substance formed can only be separated by a chemical means.

Compounds have different properties from their elemental constituents and are rarely separated by physical means.

One fact about the composition of compound is that they have a definite proportion by mass, so they are the same through out and are definitely homogeneous
