The hydrate of CoCl2 (cobalt chloride) would have a formula of CoCl2-6H2O. For every mole of CoCl2, it can have 6 molecules of water it could bind to. It is produced from a cobalt hydroxide or carbonate and hydrochloric acid. Hope this answers the question.
