This is a complex question that can be interpreted in many ways. Personally, I believe that it is saying that whether you decide to stand up and fight or sit back and allow life to pass us by, either way, the time passes and moves forward to the next opportunity. But, in that respect, it also gives us an opportunity each time a decision needs to be made to choose to be a hero or a coward and regardless of your chosen life will move on to the next decision.
