Why is nitrogen fixation such an important step in the nitrogen cycle?

    The nitrogen fixation step is very necessary since it is allows nitrogen to be used by living organism. In this step nitrogen in the atmosphere is being converted into ammonia or other nitrogen compound that can be used by organisms.
