A chemical change in 1 step and a physical change in 2 step.

    Explanation:

In the first step, when the student poured colorless solution into the another liquid, yellow particles appeared which means that there is some chemical reaction which has taken place.

In the step 2, when these yellow colored particles precipitate settled, a colorless liquid at top is left, so, this is a physical change because no new substance was produced and through the recantation it was removed.
