    Hence, n = w / m

    n = moles,

    w = given mass,

    m = molar mass.

    From the question, given mass of CCl₄ = w = 150.0g.

    and, since, The molar mass of CCl₄ = m = 153.82 g / mol

    By using the above equation,

    moles can be calculated as -

    n = w / m

    n = 150.0g / 153.82 g / mol = 0.975 mol.
