    3.86 mL

    Explanation:

    we are given;

    Initial pressure, P₁ as 0.071 atm Initial volume, V₁ as 5.0 mL New pressure, P₂ as 0.092 atm

    We are required to determine the new volume, V₂?

    We are going to use Boyle's law;

    According to Boyle's law, for a fixed mass of a gas, volume and pressure are inversely proportional, at constant temperature.

    That is, P = kV

    Therefore;

    P₁V₁ = P₂V₂

    Hence;

    V₂ = P₁V₁ : P₂

    = (0.071 atm * 5.0 mL) : 0.092 atm

    = 3.859 mL

    = 3.86 mL

    Thus, the amount of liquid consumed is 3.86 L
